Jill’s Story

Imagine a former newspaper journalist turned environmental scientist with a skill for design and strategic marketing endeavors - that's me! I want to better the world we live in and I want to use my skills in powerful and strategic marketing and communications to do that. I want to work with organizations, brands, and businesses who share in my quest to make room for optimism, who don't tire at the task of changing hearts and minds, and who believe in the power of story and authenticity. I relish in innovative disruptions to the norm be it in business or in life. I marry facts and science with story and design in the work to attract supporters, customers, and brand advocates. I specialize in crafting a powerful, authentic brand story. I use modern design, strategy, technology, and analytics to spread that story far and wide. I am an idealist, a realist, a creative, an adventurer and a confidante that puts bettering our world over bettering a bottom line. I ensure that the goals my clients are trying to achieve, be it increased funding, more customers, or better sales, are not only met but surpassed. I strive to always be kind and to use my spirit as well as my skillset to achieve great things for my clients, myself, and our shared world.

Having served as Communications Director for nonprofit, environmental organizations in my early career I quickly realized the work of marketing, messaging, web design and more is applicable across industries and organizations. I could take my skillset, knack for strategy and passion for impact and spread it. So in 2019 I set out on my own forming Farrell Strategic Group. Since then I have the distinct pleasure of working with incredible clients across the country; from a wildfire adaptation organization in California to an interior design business in Maine I have worked hand-in-hand with my clients to bring forth change, to impact sales, to grow businesses and to above all make a difference. I see myself as an extension of the team, as a reliable and trusting partner for organizations and businesses and as a powerhouse to achieving goals.

When not focused on telling my client’s story I strive to live a life less ordinary constantly seeking out ways to challenge myself, my routine, and my expectations. Together with my amazing husband Tim and Golden Retriever Gumbo, we split our time between New England and New Orleans. Each winter we embrace the heat, humidity, food, music and infectious culture of New Orleans. Each summer we migrate with the harvest to Maine and live aboard our 43-foot sailboat, “Zephyr”. The simplicity and connectivity to nature living aboard a boat brings is unmatched. I thrive on live music, fresh seafood, local food and warm weather. I have committed to traveling to the far corners of our great green earth be it by land, sea or air to meet new people, expand my beliefs, and remind myself of how lucky I am to be alive.
